We are ready!

Summer Updates from Wintergreen Performing Arts

By Erin Freeman, Artistic Director

It’s finally here! The board, staff, and volunteers of Wintergreen Performing Arts have been working hard all year, and now we finally get to experience the fruits of our labor. The Wintergreen Summer Music Festival and Academy (WSMF&A) opens on July 8 with two “wine and music tastings” at Veritas Vineyard & Winery (“Vines & Violins”). The official Opening Night Party & Concert is Wednesday, July 11 in the Dunlop Pavilion on the Mountain. Our popular Bold Bach at Bold Rock returns for two different exciting performances at, you guessed it, Bold Rock Hard Cider. And, we have four weekends of stunning orchestra concerts, concluding with the spectacular Symphony No. 9 by Beethoven.

With around 175 events during the summer, we know there will be questions. Here are a few of the most frequent questions we receive around this time of year.

I’VE NEVER BEEN BEFORE. WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Cool breezes, inspiring music, and welcoming friends! – A typical evening at the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival and Academy.

Well – you are in for a treat! We have events every day from July 8 through August 5.  You can attend interesting seminars in the morning, observe inspiring Academy masterclasses in the afternoon, and hear outstanding concerts in the evening. But, the WSMF&A is more than just something that you observe – it’s something that you experience! As an audience member, you will feel like you are in the same musical space with the artists. Seminars are interactive, with questions, observations, and conversations encouraged. Concerts are paired with social opportunities like a cocktail hour, a coffee bar, or even the chance to try out a violin, allowing you to share your musical experiences with old and new friends alike. You will find that during the summer, you will be comforted, surprised, and inspired. You will probably shed a tear, and you will definitely laugh.

HOW CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION?
