Ms Cyptar’s talk will focus on laryngeal/vocal anatomy and physiology, specifically for the professional singer and voice stu- dent. She will discuss ways to promote good vocal health and what can go wrong when we don’t take care of our voices. In addition, she will discuss and how vocal fold heal when they are injured.
Ann Cyptar, M.S., CCC–SLP, is a Voice/Speech Pathologist at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Associa- tion and received her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of North Carolina.
Quick Fact: In Fall 2014, Ms. Cyptar worked with WPA Artistic Director Erin Freeman to help her heal from a vocal cyst that left her with little voice. Now, Erin is singing again, thanks to Ms. Cyptar.
