Copland’s Appalachian Spring concludes with an orchestral rendition of the Shaker tune: “‘Tis the Gift to be Simple, ‘Tis the Gift to be Free.” But this incredible score is so much more than just those final few minutes. Artistic Director Erin Freeman will take you on a tour of this popular work from the stark clarinet opening to the rousing folk-inspired dance rhythms.
