MountainTop Masterworks IV: Season Finale – Pictures at an Exhibition

  • Dunlop Pavilion 101 Eagles Ct Wintergreen Resort, VA, 22967 United States (map)

In this not to be missed season finale, we bring our theme of transformation full circle with musical representations of art, life, and literature. Stella Sung’s piece features “musical Americana” inspired by Norman Rockwell’s portrait of JFK. Tan Dun’s Contrabass Concerto is a musical ode to Jiang Rong’s Wolf Totem, an epic novel about the extinction of the Mongolian culture and it’s sacred animal, the wolf. With Joseph Conyers’ expert playing, John Morris Russell’s engaging conducting, and Mussorgsky’s grand tribute to visual art, your transformative summer journey ends with this spectacular concert.
