THE PROGRAM

Explore chamber music in a supportive and intense environment

Study includes:

  • Private lessons

  • Regular coachings

  • Twice-weekly masterclasses

  • Multiple performance opportunities

  • Professional development and special interest sessions

  • And more!

Students develop musical and instrumental skills, hone their chamber music and interpersonal negotiating abilities, and evolve into strong, independent artists – all while observing their teachers and mentors perform at the Wintergreen Music Festival.

The outstanding string faculty and coaches are members of the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra and special guest artists. These instructors play in orchestras and ensembles across the country and internationally and are university teachers or experienced pedagogues.

String Academy ensembles also have the option to work closely with Composition Academy students and instructors to explore, perform, and record new works.
