Sunday MountainTop Masterworks I: Barber Violin Concerto with Elisabeth Adkins

Artistic Director Erin Freeman takes the podium leading the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra in the first weekend of MountainTop Masterworks performances with “music to match the view”. From composer Emilie Mayer (known for lush, romantic, Beethoven-style compositions) to Wintergreen’s own concertmaster Elisabeth Adkins, we honor the rich contributions that women have made to the music world. With a special performance of the beautiful Chorale for Strings by the late Ukrainian composer Hanna Havrylets and the sweepingly stunning Barber Violin Concerto, this concert is as rich in historical interest as it is in artistic inspiration.
Please note: The Sunday performance of this concert includes a pre-concert talk (beginning at 2:00 pm) with guest conductors to add color and perspective to your concert experience.
