Join conductor Erin Freeman in this rare opportunity to rehearse and perform the charming and festive Dixit Dominus by Marianna Martines. Martines, a contemporary of Haydn and Mozart, was a colorful and impressive composer in her own right. Wintergreen Music is thrilled to bring her Dixit Dominus to life in two performances on our flagship MountainTop Masterworks series.
Participate in just the rehearsals and performance or come for the full experience and attend our incredible array of other chamber music and orchestra performances. And, if you’re vocally out of shape, no worries! We’ll work on vocal technique that will help you get back in the singing game!
Sing with Us! is designed to bring you the best of an immersive yet accessible musical journey with the very best of "summer camp for adults." Presented as part of the 2024 Wintergreen Music Festival, Sing with Us! invites you to join other singers from across the country to study, rehearse, and perform with Erin Freeman (conductor) and the talented Festival Artists of the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra in two performances of the flagship MountainTop Masterworks series (July 13 & 14).
While on this unique musical journey, create lasting memories with friends new and old you can enjoy Wintergreen Resort offerings (lodging, spa services, golf, dining, racquet sports, hiking), visiting local wineries and breweries, and attend daily events including morning Coffee Talks and Festival concerts.
In 2023, singers performed Ola Gjeilo’s stunning Sunrise Mass with the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra to usher in a beautiful day on the mountain!
In 2017, more than 80 singers came from as far as Florida and Chicago to sing Mozart's Requiem on top of beautiful Wintergreen Mountain.
In 2018, Sing with Us! particpants gave an epic performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 – in “surround sound”. 100 singers, full orchestra, international soloists – all on top of a mountain!
In 2017, a moving performance of Mozart’s Requiem was followed by an all-sing of Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Wintergreen Music’s “Sing with Us!” dives into the music of a forgotten genius, Marianna Martines.
Come rehearse and perform Marianna Martines’ vibrant Dixit Dominus with the musicians of the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra and soloists from the LEAD program. This will feel like a pure celebration of music, singing, and community unlike any other experience. Join us as we focus on the work of a true musical giant whose talents are finally brought to light!
COST: $40
A fully marked digital version of the score is included and will be shared with all participants upon registration.
Singers may use an iPad or tablet, print their own score, or for an additional $10, receive a printed score to be picked up at the first rehearsal. (Scores are 64 pages long.)
Participation also includes access to a 15% discount to eligible Festival concerts throughout the 2024 Wintergreen Music Festival.
