Follow that with Louise Farrenc’s third symphony, a Bizet-meets-Beethoven masterpiece that is bold, energetic, and downright glorious (and that was ignored for long because it wasn’t proper for a woman to compose such ambitious music). This summer we are bringing back her music and legacy, thanks in part to a grant by the Women’s Philharmonic.

Erin Freeman leads the 2019 Sing with Us! Chorus in the majestic Cantata No. 71 by J.S. Bach. Imagine: celebratory trumpets, festive strings, and uplifting vocals, all filling the Dunlop with grandeur. Follow that with Louise Farrenc’s third symphony, a Bizet-meets-Beethoven masterpiece that is bold, energetic, and downright glorious (and that was ignored for long because it wasn’t proper for a woman to compose such ambitious music). This summer we are bringing back her music and legacy, thanks in part to a grant by the Women’s Philharmonic.
